Yes, it is possible for the Marine Discovery Centre to come to you! If you are located in an area of Tasmania which makes it difficult for your class to visit the Marine Discovery Centre, our Primary Coordinator can bring a taste of the Centre to your school. In recent years, the Marine Discovery Centre has visited primary schools in Deloraine, Launceston, Glenora and Devonport. Centre staff will bring all the resources necessary to provide a stimulating and hands-on program, including preserved marine specimens for your students to explore. A teachers seminar is available to showcase resources teachers may use to extend the experience back in the classroom. All your school needs to do is to provide a spare classroom for the duration of the program, and fill a minimum number of sessions with classes from your own school and if necessary, from neighbouring schools.
