    (Grant, 1987)
    Habitat: Sheltered sand; 0 - 100 m depth
Distribution: WA to NSW and around Tasmania
Maximum size: Length to 450 mm
    Diet: Polychaetes and other invertebrates
    Comments:
Slighty buried under the sand, flounder are the masters of camouflage. When they are larval fish, they have one eye on each side of the body. As they develop, the left eye migrates over to the right side of the body, leaving the left with no eye. In another family (Bothidae), the eyes are located on the left side of the body.
