    Habitat: Sheltered and moderately exposed reef, sand; 0 – 50 m depth
    Distribution: WA to NSW and around Tasmania
    Maximum size: Length to 280 mm
    Comments:
    Also called Porcupine fish. When threatened, the fish inflates rapidly with outward facing spines. This causes eaten fish to become lodged in the throat of predators.
