    Habitat: Sheltered and moderately exposed sand, silt; 0 - 60 m depth
    Distribution: WA to NSW and around Tasmania
    Maximum size: Length to 750 mm
    Diet: Relatively large fish, invertebrates
    Comments:
    These fish bury themselves under the sand, with only their eyes barely visible. They have a large spine on each pectoral fin. This species is commonly seen by divers and has been known to attack divers.
